Amanda McRaven

Amanda McRaven (MFA, UC Irvine) works on collaborative, socially-conscious theater and performance that uncovers the creative voice explores the physical, and re-discovers liveness. She’s a proud Drama League Fellow, SDC Associate, Ovation Award winner for her direction of The Pliant Girls, member of Lincoln Center Directors Lab, and Fulbright Award recipient to New Zealand, where she worked in community-based theater. She is a professor of performance studies at Cal State Northridge; an Arts in Corrections instructor at Lancaster and Chino state prisons; founder and producer of Los Angeles Lady Arm Wrestlers, a social justice, community-based performance series that fundraises for local non-profits; and co-founder/co-artistic director of Make Trouble, advanced Shakespeare performance training prioritizing rigor, ensemble, and bravery (maketrouble.org). In addition to co-helming Coeurage, she also creates heart-driven ensemble work with her company, Fugitive Kind (fugitivekind.org).
