As cities across the country rise up and speak out against the violent deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and countless other black souls, the depths of systemic racism and inequality that have plagued our country and the black community for generations continue to be painfully obvious.

Coeurage Theatre Company is committed to reflecting and serving the beautiful diversity of Los Angeles by sharing the stories and voices that define it. But the candid truth of the matter is that we have not done enough. We're not always going to get it right, but we are committed to educating ourselves, our audiences and community, and to taking action. We will continue to listen, hire, and support black and POC artists, and be actively anti-racist in deed, not just in thought. We invite you to hold us accountable.

It is time to move past belief into action. We, Coeurage, can do better, and we stand in solidarity with our black colleagues and partners of color in outrage at these heinous acts of systemic injustice.
