Christopher Salazar

Christopher Salazar is an actor, voice over artist, fight director and educator, who earned his MFA in acting from The Old Globe Theatre/USD and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With Coeurage he has appeared in Titus Andronicus and The Woodsman, while also being an alternate in Failure: a Love Story and Twelfth Night. Other LA credits include: Chief Little Turtle in the Ovation-nominated and award winning Ameryka with Critical Mass Performance Group; Jack Worthing in The Importance of Being Earnest at A Noise Within; Edwin in Our Lady of 121st Street at the Victory Theater; Alceste in The Misanthrope with the Classic Theater Lab; and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet at The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles. Mr. Salazar has worked extensively as a regional theatre actor including the past two seasons as an acting company member with The Oregon Shakespeare Festival performing in Henry V, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Way the Mountain Moved, and Off the Rails; 11 productions at The Old Globe Theatre highlighted by Duke Vincentio/Elbow in Measure for Measure, Benedick in Much Ado about Nothing, and Silvius in As You Like It; Portland Center Stage; The Barnstormers Theatre, The Barter Theatre, The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company; and the American Shakespeare Center. His New York Theatre credits include: The world premiere of Thieves at The Public Theater; and Hamlet with Gorilla Rep. Christopher is thrilled to count Coeurage as his artistic home in Los Angeles. Not only for the opportunity to work alongside this amazing ensemble of artists but also the commitment to make theatre accessible to all. Christopher is especially interested in the work happening nationwide that targets and invites overlooked and undeserved communities to partake in arts programming.
